About Us
WHO WE ARE
Gracious Hands Uganda is a non-profit community organization committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable children, young mothers, and families in underserved communities. Founded on compassion and a deep desire to uplift those in need, we provide holistic support through education programs, skills development, health outreach, clean water initiatives, food and nutrition programs, and spiritual care.
We believe that every child deserves a chance to learn, every woman deserves an opportunity to thrive, and every family deserves hope for a better future. Through our dedicated team, volunteers, and community partners, we work hand in hand to address real challenges—empowering people with the skills, resources, and support needed to break the cycle of poverty and build sustainable livelihoods.
Our mission is simple: to restore dignity, unlock potential, and create lasting impact—one life at a time.
OUR STORY
Our story starts way back, when we first witnessed the silent suffering of young women, especially teenage mothers who had nowhere to turn after experiencing poverty, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
In our communities, many girls were carrying heavy burdens in silence. Some had been abandoned by their families, some had fallen victim to sexual and defilement, and others were trapped in cycles of extreme poverty with no one to guide or support them.
What began as simple acts of compassion—listening, comforting, and helping girls find safety—quickly revealed a much deeper need. Young mothers were struggling to raise children without support, survivors of abuse were living with unhealed trauma, and families lacked the knowledge and tools to protect their daughters. It became clear that a stronger, more organized form of support was urgently needed.
Driven by a desire to restore dignity and create lasting change, we started reaching out to affected families, offering counselling, guidance, and spiritual support. Over time, we expanded into training programs, community sensitization, and empowerment initiatives that gave survivors real opportunities to rebuild their lives.
What began as a small community effort has grown into a structured organization committed to inspiring, empowering, and advocating for young women and teenage mothers who have faced extreme poverty, neglect, abuse, and abandonment.
Today, we continue to walk with survivors—providing counselling, education support, business coaching, parental training, and rescue referrals—because every girl and every mother deserves a safe home, a supportive community, and a future full of possibility.
